Each year, there are more than 200 000 festival-goers who come to meet the 1 000 artists performing on the 4 stages.

The ancient theatre, built in the 1st century, is the emblematic place of Jazz in Vienna. Its singular acoustics mingled with the imprint of history offers an exceptional setting for the public and the internationally renowned artists who perform there. A real blend of modernity and old, a sincere musical mix, the festival rich of its diversity is meant to be plural and open to all.

Jazz in Vienna is jazz from midday until late at night. Of the 250 concerts offered, 200 are free to find in particular on the scenes of Cybele, or after at the JazzMix or the Club of midnight. The programming offers free access to numerous appointments: the young public creation offered to the 6 000 children of the community of agglomeration, the renditions of the Jazz Academy in Vienna, the Caravan’Jazz, the springboard RéZZo FOCAL, the musical readings, Film projections, concerts at the Museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal and the festival off on the terraces of café and restaurateurs Viennese. Jazz in Vienna It’s jazz all the time, everywhere and for all ears.

But Jazz in Vienna is also all year round. The Jazz season in Vienna offers a program that brings the festival to life throughout the region from September to June. As a cultural actor, the festival works in parallel with various ancillary projects carried out in collaboration with the cultural institutions of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Abroad, Jazz in Vienna weaves ever stronger ties with prestigious international partnerships including the Festi Jazz de Rimouski (Quebec), the Tokyo Jazz Festival (Japan), the Sampa Jazz (Brazil) and the X Jazz Festival (Germany). The Jazz Festival in Vienna is also a member of the International jazz Festivals Organization.

The Light Festival


The festival Lumière has become the world event of Heritage Cinema. Once a year, it is in Lyon, hometown of Cinematograph, that the world of cinema celebrates its vitality and its memory, through a contemporary visit to the works of the past (films restored, retrospectives, guests, homages…). Thanks to all the participating cinemas, the festival radiates throughout the Lyon agglomeration and touches a wide audience.

Polar Docks


The Festival international du Polar de Lyon, known as the Polar Docks, is an event dedicated to the crime genre (detective fiction and police film), which takes place in Lyon.
